Makerspaces is a collaborative workplace for library guests that can create using tools through the library. Makerspaces are important for the community of libraries as they allow for a space where patrons can come together and help each other out. These stations can vary from library to library. Some libraries may have more resources to offer like 3D printers, software, craft supplies and tools used communally. EBSCOs website is a good resource to learn how one can advance their libraries' makerspaces. They include points of focus for makerspaces such as hobbies and crafting. The website includes some subjects to to base off ones makerspaces to focus on. They have subjects like arts and crafts, collecting, cooking and baking, holiday crafts and many more. (ebsco). Overall makerspaces are a great way to build community in a library and provide a way for other people to use each other as resources.
